it's been a hectic 48 hours in sfo. but this evening things are starting to return to normal in san francisco. we have an update on flight delays. >> reporter: sfo was full of passengers hoping to fly out tonight. take a look. they are in for possible delays. flights are delayed by about an hour and a half at this point. but there are some good news. people who have been strapped for two days are headed home. because of the crash only three of the four runways are open. and sfo is on a ground dough lay program. that means the airport is landing fewer planes than normal which is causing arrival delays and dough par tour delays. add in hundreds of passengers that were trying to get on flights that were canceled on saturday and you have busy ticket counters and long security lines. for some the delays are a matter of hours. for others it's days. >> well, my original flight to kansas city was supposed to leave at 6:10, then it was delayed to 8:10, then 10:00 which will put me about 5:30 in kansas city. >> we don't get to ho
